Burn Permits
Burn permits are required from April 1 - October 31, but always check the fire status before you burn. Fire permits will not be issued during Level 1 or Total Fire Bans.
During wildfire season, open air burning (including campfires) is permitted during the hours from 1 hour before sunset to 1 hour after sunrise. Permits are required for any fire that is over a 2-foot radius. Campfires do not require a burning permit.
Obtaining a Burn Permit
Burn permits are $10 and can be obtained online or in person:
- Online: complete the online form here and e-transfer the required fees.
- In Person: Permits can be purchased at CO County Market in Combermere and the Municipal Office.
If conditions become extreme, the Ministry of Natural Resources or the Township retains the authority to declare a Fire Ban on all fires including those for cooking and warmth.
