The Township of Madawaska Valley is presently accepting applications for a Crossing Guard. A Crossing 
Guard ensures the safety of students and pedestrians by directing traffic and guiding children across busy streets. This position is based in Barry's Bay and the successful candidate works two hours per day (one hour in the morning and one hour in the afternoon), Monday-Friday during the school year. 

Rate of pay: Group 1 Step 1 - $17.98 hourly plus 4% vacation pay.

The Madawaska Valley Fire Department is actively recruiting new Volunteer Firefighters for both the North Hall (Barry’s Bay) and South Hall (Combermere).

Volunteer Firefighters engage in fire suppression, prevention, and education activities. Candidates must be able to obtain a clean driver’s abstract and vulnerable sector check, as well as become trained to the 1002 National Fire Protection Agency Standard Level One. All training is paid for by the Township of Madawaska Valley, and Volunteer Firefighters are paid annually based on the number of training sessions and calls they respond to.
