The Township of Madawaska Valley is accepting applications for summer staff in the following positions:

Lead Swim Instructor: 2 positions – up to 30 hours per week - $19.62/hour
Providing quality instruction at the water’s edge, the Lead Swim Instructor is also responsible for duties related to registration, scheduling, and curriculum of classes, as well as leadership of the Swim Instructor. One position is available at each of our locations: Lakeshore Park, Barry’s Bay and Mayflower Park, Combermere. Please note your preferred location(s) when you apply.

•    Assistant Instructor, Swim Instructor, or Lifesaving Instructor certifications
•    Possess up-to-date Standard First Aid with CPR C Certification
•    Have completed Bronze Medallion and Bronze Cross
•    Proven leadership skills, demonstrated ability to work independently, and experience working with youth
•    Excellent customer service and communication skills
•    Familiarity with the Lifesaving Society’s Swim For Life program
•    Own transportation is required

Working with the Lead Swim Instructor, the Swim Instructor provides quality instruction to all ages at the water’s edge. One position is available at each of our locations: Lakeshore Park, Barry’s Bay and Mayflower Park, Combermere. Please note your preferred location(s) when you apply.

The Madawaska Valley Fire Department is actively recruiting new Volunteer Firefighters for both the North Hall (Barry’s Bay) and South Hall (Combermere).

Volunteer Firefighters engage in fire suppression, prevention, and education activities. Candidates must be able to obtain a clean driver’s abstract and vulnerable sector check, as well as become trained to the 1002 National Fire Protection Agency Standard Level One. All training is paid for by the Township of Madawaska Valley, and Volunteer Firefighters are paid annually based on the number of training sessions and calls they respond to.
