Freedom of Information

The Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (MFIPPA) establishes a general right of access to the information held by local governments and institutions. The Act also protects the privacy of individual’s personal information that are part of government records, and provides a formal procedure to request records. 

Routine Disclosure  

Many documents are readily available in our online documents portal. Council agendas, minutes, reports, by-laws, and Township policies can all be accessed without a formal request. Please complete a search prior to submitting an MFIPPA request.

Submit a Request

To make a formal request under the MFIPPA, submit a completed Freedom of Information Request Form to the Clerk's Office:

There is a fee of $5 for every application submitted. The fee can be paid by cash or card at the Township Office, or by e-transfer to payments@madawaskavalley.ca.
