Weekend Vandalism Costs the Taxpayer Nearly $2000

Vandalism cost the taxpayer nearly $2000 in damage this weekend, alongside the cost of staff time to remove and replace these signs. Every time something in the township is vandalized, it takes time and money away from other services we need to provide – money that comes from your neighbours, your family, and your own taxes. Damaging public assets and spaces is not edgy or heroic – it is selfish and illegal.

28 stop signs were vandalized and must be replaced. If you or someone you know lives in the vicinity of these intersections and have security or doorbell camera footage that may show the perpetrators in action, please save it and report it to the OPP.
