Notice of Study Commencement: Class Environmental Assessment for the Minor Realignment of Bay Street at Opeongo Line

NOTICE OF STUDY COMMENCEMENT – CLASS ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT FOR THE MINOR REALIGNMENT OF BAY STREET AT THE INTERSECTION WITH OPEONGO LINE

The Township of Madawaska Valley is undertaking a Municipal Class Environmental Assessment for the minor realignment of Bay street at the intersection with Opeongo Line. The project has become a priority to increase the turning radius for westbound vehicles turning from Opeongo South onto Bay street to increase traffic flow during high volume times. The project will occur within the existing right of way.

The above noted project is being planned under Schedule A+ of the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment.

Public input and comment are invited, for incorporation into the planning and design of this project, and will be received until 23rd May, 2025. Township of Madawaska Valley intends to proceed with design, tendering and construction of this project, to be completed by late 2025.
