Celebrate Local Food Week in MV!

The first week of June is Local Food Week! Food grown locally – whether that means here in MV or within the province – supports our communities, helps the environment, and is just more delicious.

We’re fortunate to have plenty of ways to eat local food in Madawaska Valley, including:
  • Visiting one of our two Farmer’s Markets – Barry’s Bay (Fridays 11am-3pm @ Royal Canadian Legion) and Combermere (Saturdays starting mid-June, 9-11am @ Combermere Community Centre)
  • Keeping an eye out for signage at local grocery stores noting local products from within the Township and beyond.
  • Purchasing foods with the Foodland Ontario logo, showing it was grown or produced right here in Ontario.
  • Check out the Renfrew County Food Guide to help find local retailers, growers, and producers
