Barry's Bay BIA Receives OCAF Grant
Congratulations to the Barry's Bay BIA, who are the recipients of an Ontario Cultural Attractions Fund grant for this years Bay Days! BIA Co-Chair Pam McNichol was joined by Mayor Shulist, Councillors Blank and Maika, and CAO Sue Klatt for a reception in Pembroke with MPP Billy Denault and OCAF Executive Director Thomas Vaughan in Pembroke on Thursday, May 30 to celebrate the funding.
The $10,000 grant will support marketing for the annual Bay Day event and the expansion of the event from a one-day celebration on the May long weekend to a three day affair.
"With this support, we’re expanding our event from one day to three days, which is something we’re incredibly excited about. That means more opportunities for artists, youth, vendors and visitors, but it also means more chances to showcase the spirit, hospitality and culture that make this region so special." - Pam McNichol, Barry's Bay Co-Chair
"On behalf of Council, I want to thank the Ontario Cultural Attractions Fund for recognizing the hard work and volunteerism in the Barry's Bay BIA and investing in Madawaska Valley. The annual Bay Day street festival is the highlight of the May long weekend in our community and this funding will allow this event to continue to grow and thrive. Congratulations to the Barry's Bay BIA and thank you OCAF." - Mayor David Shulist
OCAF provides Ontario cultural organizations with investment to increase cultural tourism, earned revenue, private sector sponsorship, economic growth and job creation.
