Voters’ List – Ensure your voter information is correct, especially if you have moved or changed your name since the last election or are new to the Township.The Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC) is responsible for identifying all potential municipal, school board and District Social Services Administration Board Electors. MPAC provides the preliminary voters’ list of eligible electors to the Township, which aids in the preparation of the final voters’ list for Election Day.You can contact the Township Office to see if you are on the voters’ list, to check your address information if it has changed since the last election, or if you are a new resident or tenant.• If you are on the voters’ list, but the information on the list is incorrect, you can apply to change the information at the Township Office.• If you are not on the voters’ list, you can apply to add your name and voter information to the list.• Identification Required: Identification will be required at the ballot return station to verify your identity and qualifying address. NOTICE OF ELECTION INFORMATION
The Municipal Election will be held on October 24, 2022. The Township of Madawaska Valley election will be conducted by Mail-In Ballot. Ballots will be mailed to you by DataFix around September 25, 2022. Traditional polls will not be established. Return your kit by mail in the postage-paid envelope OR Drop it off at the Municipal Office at 85 Bay Street, Barry’s Bay, ON. K0J 1B0 (A drop box is available to the left of the Municipal Office front door as well) Until 4:00 p.m. on Voting Day (October 24, 2022) OR at the Paul J Yakabuski Community Centre on October 24, 2022 (ONLY) from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Voters are asked to bring the Ballot Package they received in the mail if they choose to drop it off in the Ballot Box as opposed to mailing it.
Electors on the Voters List or added to the Voters List up to and including September 17, 2022, will receive their Vote by Mail Kit by mail from Data Fix.
The Procedures for voting are set out in the Voter Instruction Sheet, which accompanies the Ballot Package. Voters will be advised to mail their Returned Ballot Package by the second week in October to ensure its arrival and inclusion in the count.
If you cannot return your ballot by mail, it can be dropped off at the
Municipal Office (85 Bay Street) – until Monday, October 24, 2022- 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Paul J. Yakabuski Community Centre (65 Arena Road) – only on Monday, October 24, 2022 – 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Valley Manor residents can return ballots by mail, or we will be on-site at the Valley Manor on Wednesday, October 19, 2022- 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
