Civil Marriage Solemnization
Appointments for civil marriage solemnization can be made with one of the officiants authorized to perform marriages through the Township of Madawaska Valley.
The cost to purchase a marriage licence is $125.00.
The cost to have the marriage solemnized at the Municipal Office during regular business hours is $175.00 (plus the licence fee), performed by authorized commissioners – Municipal Staff.
A ceremony within the Municipality at a Municipal Off-site location during designated hours Monday to Friday 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. is $200.00 + 0.58/km for travel to and from the service (plus licence fee).
A ceremony after hours, weekends and/or off-site Performed by either authorized commissioners-municipal staff or person delegated authority from Madawaska Valley Council to perform the civil marriage solemnization service for the Municipality is $350.00 + 0.58/km for travel to and from the service (plus licence fee).
Request to attend a rehearsal performed by either authorized commissioners-Municipal staff, or person delegated authority from Madawaska Valley Council to perform the civil marriage solemnization service for the Municipality is $75.00 +0.58/km for travel to and from the rehearsal location.
