Established in 1960, The Madawaska Valley Public Library has remained an integral part of the community and surrounding area. In addition to the selection of fiction and non-fiction books for adults, youth and children, the library has eBooks, DVDs, Audio Books, magazines, and numerous databases. Five public access computers and wireless internet are available free of charge.

In the summer a range of children’s programs is offered on a weekly basis. For genealogy buffs there is a research computer with the database Ancestry Library Edition as well as a microfilm machine for access to the microfilmed local newspapers. Passes for the museums of Civilization, Science & Technology, Nature, the Canadian War Museum, Aviation, Agriculture, the Ottawa Museum Network and the Renfrew County Museum Network can be checked out with a library membership card.

The library is also a partner in the provincial Interlibrary Loan program which means that if there is a book that we do not have in our collection we can request it from another library.
