In the matter of Section 45 of the Planning Act, the Township of Madawaska Valley hereby gives Notice of an Application for Minor Variance
Subject Lands: 340 Spectacle Lake Road, being Part of Lot 112, Range “B” North, in the geographic Township of Jones, Township of Madawaska Valley.
Purpose and Effect: The purpose and effect of the Minor Variance application is to permit a reduced minimum lot area for a sleeping cabin from 0.8 hectares to 0.4 hectares. Additionally, the applicant has applied for a variance to permit a second storey within the sleep cabin and to permit a wooden platform (4.8 m x 4.3) 13 metres from the high-water mark of Spectacle Lake.
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Township of Madawaska Valley Committee of Adjustment will hold a public hearing in accordance with Section 45 of the Planning Act on June 20, 2023 at 9:00 a.m.
This meeting will be held both in-person at the Township of Madawaska Valley Municipal Office located at 85 Bay Street, Barry’s Bay and virtually via Zoom. Additionally, the meeting will be recorded and made available for viewing on the Madawaska Valley YouTube Channel.
Participation: Any member of the public wishing to provide comments related to the application may do so in writing at any time prior to the meeting or orally during the meeting (in-person or virtual).
Written comments can be submitted to the undersigned (planning@madawaskavalley.ca) until June 20, 2023 at 9:00 a.m.

Additional information regarding the Minor Variance is available for inspection at the Township of Madawaska Valley Municipal office during regular office hours.
