Barry’s Bay Hydrant Flushing Week of October 10th

Barry’s Bay Hydrant Flushing Week of October 10th

The Ontario Clean Water Agency will be conducting scheduled maintenance of fire hydrants within the village of Barry’s Bay and the water distribution system. This program is designed to ensure our hydrants will be ready if needed by the fire department and to maintain the water distribution system.
The hydrants are inspected for proper operation and their flow capacities are checked. This procedure is routine, but may result in minor inconveniences such as reduced water pressure or “red” water.
If coloured water is detected, open your cold water taps to clear the system. The coloured water is not hazardous to your health, and should last no longer than two hours.
Staff of the Ontario Clean Water Agency and the Township of Madawaska Valley thank you for your cooperation and understanding!
