The Township of Madawaska Valley is currently accepting expressions of interest for the 2023 Madawaska Valley Artisan Festival. This year, rather than take applications and payment immediately, we are accepting expressions of interest from now until April 15. Vendors will be contacted within one week of applications closing with the status of their application, and must confirm their attendance by April 31. A minimum number of vendors must be reached for this event to move forward.

Taking place at the Railway Station at 19503 Opeongo Line in Barry’s Bay on Saturday, July 8, this event will be the 37th annual Artisan Festival.

March 15: expression of interest forms released
April 15: expression of interest forms due
April 21: vendors informed of status of their expression of interest
April 31: vendors must have confirmed their attendance

The first Festival was an initiative of the Madawaska Valley Arts Council in 1984 and was a two-day event held at the ski hill south of Barry’s Bay. It was truly a festival with a line up of musicians, arts and craft demonstrations, performing artists and workshops. In 1991, MVAC partnered with the Barry’s Bay Railway Station Restoration Committee and donated a portion of the profit to the restoration fund. From then on, the festival has been held at the Railway Station Park. The Madawaska Valley Artisan Festival is all about creating a festive summer atmosphere to celebrate handmade work.
